30-day jump rope challenge

Twenty rope days, ten recovery days, two tests. A calendar you can actually finish.

Key points

  • 20 rope days, 10 recovery days.
  • Test your 60-second count on days 1, 15 and 30.
  • Sore calves on a rope day: repeat the previous session.

A month is long enough to see clear progress and short enough to stay motivated. This challenge has 20 rope days and 10 recovery days, because calves and tendons improve during rest.

Before day 1

Test yourself: how many basic bounces can you do in 60 seconds (restarts allowed)? Write it down. You will repeat the test on days 15 and 30.

Rules that keep it safe

  • If calves are still sore on a rope day, repeat the previous day's session instead.
  • Sharp pain in a shin or Achilles: stop and rest. See safety.
  • Missing a day is fine. Continue from where you left off; do not double up.

Day 31

Move to the level workouts or let the timer build sessions for you: three or four days a week, one of them intervals.
